“BONO” enters the sawn timber market and plans to attract investments in the amount of 100 million euro to reach 1 billion turnover within 3 years
In 2021, after reaching a sales volume of 810,000 m3, BONO closed the year with 73 million euro turnover and 3 million euro profit. The company is trusted by more than 1,000 customers, who appreciate the excellent cooperation. The company cooperates with companies of a global scale such as “Stora Enso”, Graanul Invest”, “UPM” and others.
Jānis Upenieks, Board Member of the company, points out: “Our ideology is based on combining business processes with technical solutions. This results in the highest value service and quality, which, in turn, provides additional profit for the customer. In 2021, significant investments were made in the development of various IT technologies and business innovation, which enables the operations of customers and European cooperation partners to be carried out in a unified platform. These innovations enable “Bono” to offer a higher price, a higher quality logistics planning service, and, supplemented by the log registration tool usable in port operations, mean that 3 man-hours can be devoted to customer service quality improvements.”
The company has attracted investments in the amount of 20 million to achieve the goals set for 2022 – to double the volume of wood sold, reaching 1.6 million m3. Investments in the development of sawn timber and woodchip segments will enable a tenfold increase in volume compared to 2021.
“We are planning to increase the amount of investments to 100 million euro in three years by investing funds in wood trade platform and technology development, thus becoming one of the largest wood trade platforms – for sawn timber, round timber, and woodchip. Our goal is to become the new Baltic unicorn by reaching 1 billion turnover in three years”, says the Board Member Jānis Upenieks.

For example, traffic from a supplier in Germany to a UK manufacturer, or a selection of freight in Lithuania and delivery to a customer in Romania clearly shows the global scale of BONO’s services network and wood trade platform. BONO’s team consists of 83 professionals of the industry with vast experience in the wood trade, experienced logistics experts, financiers, lawyers and information technology engineers, and marketing specialists.
The LLC (SIA) “BONO” is a company established to structure the services provided by the LLC (SIA) “Dižozols”. The LLC (SIA) “BONO” will operate in the field of wood trade – round timber, sawn timber, and woodchip – in the Latvian and international markets. In the future, the brand “Dižozols” will be used in transactions with real estate, forest management, and logging services in the Latvian market
